Everyone who's been owned by a cat understands the humor that such a life often encompasses. We've added this page to pay tribute to humor and the joy we find in our furry friends!
Trivia about fleas: The eggs can stay dormant and unhatched for up to 5 years surviving temperatures of greater than 150 degrees F and -150 degrees F! They can survive snow, ice, sleet, rain, freezing temperatures and burning temperatures and as soon as they have a good "blood source" for food, they hatch and become a flea infestation within days! This is why an abandoned house that has not had animals or humans in it for 5 years can become flea infested within days of someone moving in. Hope you found this interesting!
Some History Trivia of Cats: Cats have been alternately adored and scorned throughout their long association with mankind. In ancient egypt, Cats were worshipped as sacred to the goddess Bast, the cat headed goddess. It was considered a major crime punishable by death (as well as sacrilage) to kill a cat - and at their deaths cats were Embalmed and Mummified, often buried with the same respect, soul offerings, and treasures that would accompany an extremely wealthy member of the upperclass and members of the royal family on their journies into the afterlife. Mummified remains of mice and rats have been found in tombs containing cats - as food for their souls in their little kitty afterlives! (And we wonder why they all have that "Worship Me" cattitude!!)
